Revised 'Map' for Interactive Experience

Animation Progress

The animation is almost complete. Traditional techniques were replicated using digital software, such as Adobe Flash, Photoshop and Premiere, to create the animation’s chosen design style in a short time period to a high standard. It was very important to create the piece to meet the expectations of the client in the time frame provided. Both hand drawn animation and computer ‘tweened’ animation are being used to produce the animation. I am very happy with the outcome yet it has taken longer than expected. However the animation will still be completed in plenty of time for myself to be able to animate and code the interactive section.

Idea Development

We have recently been developing and expanding upon the ideas for our project, we divided our plans between the three of us and created storyboards for every section of the project. The section which I pre-visulized was an extract from the story which would be animated, viewers would be able to click a link which would lead them to an animation created in the paper cut out style which is being used consistently throughout the project, this would then have a voice over reading an extract from the story. The purpose of this would be to intrigue the viewr and make them want to see more of the book.

After creating the first proposed shot shown above, I decided that it was a strange angle and so developped the idea further by storyboarding an alternative begining, with a different angle.

Introductory Animation: Animatic
