Initial ideas

Over the past week I have had various ideas running through my head as to what we could possibly create for Linda Hoy and her book The Effect. When meeting her last week and talking to her I noticed that she seemed to be quite enthusiastic and fond of the cover image of her book which can also be found on her website, she talked about how the image showed a dimension hopping fish. I feel as though the image tells a story in itself and also represents a lot of the themes found in the book and so would be an excellent thing to expand upon. My idea would be to re-create the image as a short animation with the goldfish starting in a familiar environment in a fishbowl before jumping to a different dimension as shown on the front cover of The Effect. In between there would be flashes of images and animation representing themes and elements of the book in a psychedelic style. I look forward to discussing and sharing all of our ideas together as a group on Monday, it will be interesting to see what the outcome is. I feel excited about the project and have high expectations that we will be successful in whatever we decide to create.
